Melissa Bowers

Melissa Bowers is the founder of Courage My Heart and creator of the Heart Compass Method mentorship program.   Melissa is a meditation teacher and grief guide supporting you to heal grief and loss through mindfulness practices, cultivating lovingkindness (mettā-bhāvanā), and creative self-expression. She teaches group and private classes, encouraging the mind~body~heart connection through breathwork, gentle yoga movements, meditation and mindfulness.

Melissa holds a sacred space for her students to be vulnerable, to explore and connect their life themes and story, and to find a stillness that allows them to listen with their whole heart.

I am devoted to helping you return to your true self by growing a healthy, inspired and meaningful life ~ full of courage, love and magic.

My background in learning and development gives me a wonderful foundation in understanding how we learn, the science and power of hope, and how to embrace change with resilience. A core value of my teaching is cultivating lovingkindness, compassion, and caring for ourselves, expanding to our circle of family and friends, and outward into the world.

A lifelong learner with years of training in holistic modalities, including meditation, mindfulness, yoga, Pilates, and formal grief and trauma work, have all informed how I support people ~ an intuitively holistic approach that addresses every level of the mind, body, heart, and spirit.

As a guide, my intuition flows from my sādhanā (daily spiritual practice), which includes prāṇāyāma (breathwork), mindfulness, heartfulness and lovingkindness meditation, and my movement practice is a mix of Vinyasa, Yin, and Pilates.

Breathe with your whole heart. My yoga teaching is rooted in the belief that breathing is life changing. It is in our darkest moments that we really need to be still, listen, and breathe with intention. Our breath deepens our mind~body connection which opens us to the healing inner wisdom of our heart.

I am honoured to support and guide you in the grief and mindfulness practices that have helped me move forward in my healing journey. Nothing could prepare me for the death of my beautiful 22 year-old daughter Natasha. My life work is dedicated in honour of her.
